Dye sublimation is a printing technique that uses heat to transfer images or designs to fabrics. The ink used in dye sublimation printing is changed from a solid to a gas instantly, skipping the liquid phase. This causes the ink to bond directly to the fibers of the apparel. Unlike other printing processes which print a layer of ink on top of the apparel, dye sublimation printing turns the ink into part of the apparel! With dye sub printing you don’t have to worry about cracking, peeling, fading, or scratching because the ink is embedded in the fibers of the garment, not on top of them.
